With over 400 teams registered to play from as far afield as Polokwane to Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs, the Spring league got underway for most teams by last week and the action on the fields was at its best sometimes shadowing some of the Springboks form on the field against Fiji…

Not too many surprises just yet as most teams are still feeling each other out, but there is no doubt, as with Australia and Ireland, that there are some upsets on the cards.

The website and social media streams will be processing updates and pictures on a regular basis and we encourage you all to submit articles, video clips and pictures so that we can put them up and encourage all our loyal players to become part of an amazing national community…

IN2TOUCH would like to thank all the teams that played in the inter league tournament on Saturday the 27th of August. The tournament proved to be a fantastic success with the weather also playing its part.

In all we had around 46 teams playing on the day which ran from 09h30 through to 15h00.

The Tournament consisted of 4 different divisions Namely :
1. 1 Touch Open 1st Place Samurais (Zoo Lake)
2nd Place Golden Quins (Centurion)
2. 1 Touch Corp 1st Place Kombinani Steel (Centurion)
2nd Place Grind Mach Engineering (Centurion)
3. 6 Down Men 1st Place Spartans (Sandton)
2nd Place Staalwol (Harlequins)
4. 6 Down Mixed 1st Place Mana Mixed (Harlequins)
2nd Place Golden Touch (Edenvale)

We congratulate the winners of the various divisions and look forward to seeing them making use of their prizes [Free season in the In2Touch league]

In2Touch were also fortunate enough to have been sponsored by Green Mamba, this is a new alcoholic beverage on the market , consisting of Cane and Cream Soda, sure to take the student market by storm.
Green Mamba were kind enough to sponsor 50 cases of product as well as key rings and caps for prizes, this went down very well with the winners. Green Mamba a big thank you for your involvement it is much appreciated by all, especially In2Touch.

The day ran very smoothly without incident, we thank all teams for there assistance and participation on the day, which proved to be a success and made for a fantastic atmosphere. We look forward to seeing you at the next In2Touch tournament at a different venue as we plan to move around to suit the different leagues.

We had an overwhelming number of teams travel through from Pretoria lets hope when we have a tournament in there neck of the woods the Gauteng teams reciprocate in support.

Mouritz Botha – England is My Home Now

SA Rugby Magazine has a great article on England’s newest rising star Mouritz Botha who was our Cape Town league manager for about a year before going over to the UK to earn his stripes. WELL DONE MOURITZ!!
